The Rut is on in Illinois. Big Bucks are cruising for does. Many areas are fresh with scrapes and rubs outlining competing big buck territories. Usually the prime time for the rut in Illinois is the second to third week of November. This year with the cooler temperatures the rut is in full swing a little bit earlier. Time for all hunters who dream of tagging a monster buck is now. The rut is one of the few times the mature buck is not on his guard as usual.
